iTK Connects with BYOD Trends
"BYOD strategies are the most radical change to the economics and the culture of client computing in business in decades," said David Willis, vice president and distinguished analyst at Gartner. "The benefits of BYOD include creating new mobile workforce opportunities, increasing employee satisfaction, and reducing or avoiding costs.".
Employees are using their own devices more and more. Time sheets, lists, and employee self-service are just some of the applications that are driving companies to embrace BYOD. In fact, the Gartner report predicts that half of employers will require employees to bring their own devices in a few years. Currently, BYOD is used mostly in medium-to-large size companies. Some are reimbursing employees for a portion of their mobile costs, usually the service plans.
Some of the concerns are security and data usage. iTK’s Direct Connect provides double-authenticated access to Infor Lawson Portal beyond the DMZ. Browser Solutions allows users to use all popular Browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Opera) within the firewall and outside it when used in conjunction with Direct Connect.
The benefits of secure BYOD practices are employee satisfaction and lower costs. For example, time spend on Open Enrollment were reduced 65% or more with Employee Self Service access.
